 | The following steps outline the strategy to accomplish New Hope's two-fold mission, set forth by Christ: Step 1: Developing a relationship with a non-believer. This is a crucial step to learn and apply. We must seek God through prayer to direct us to the right person to begin DEVELOPING a relationship with a non-believer. If we do not reachthere will be no one to teach. Lost people matter to God, and they should matter to us! Step 2: Pointing conversations toward spiritual matters. This step is accomplished by simply asking your friend if they attend church or can be deeper such as asking a more confrontational question about their spiritual life. The goal is to begin POINTING conversations that open up the relationship to discuss spiritual matters, which will lead directly to next step.
Step 3:luxury hotels in Malaga Sharing the gospel or inviting them to an outreach event. By now, the believer has developed trust and acceptance with a new friend. This is the step that moves beyond talking and into action. This step is where the believer can begin SHARING the gospel with their friend. If the believer is not the confrontational type, they will invite their friend to a Sunday service or outreach event that is designed with their seeker friend in mind. Our services and programs will be presented in a biblically relevant, contemporary and powerful way, for both the seeker and the believer. Step 4: Responding to the gospel and accepting Christ. This is the defining moment of all of our outreach efforts! Your friend is RESPONDING to the life-changing salvation that only Christ provides! This step now launches the new believer into the intentional next steps that they must take as a new follower of Christ. They now must be taught to grow in their spiritual walk with Christ, as we seek to fulfill both the "reach and teach" commands of the great commission.
Note: These steps do not always occur in the same order in every situation. We must be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. This is a progressive strategy to help a believer accomplish the task of outreach in a manner that fits their unique gifting and style. Sometimes this can happen in a few hours; sometimes it takes months or even years to accomplish each step. "Teach these new disciples to obey everything that I have given to you" (Matthew 28:20) "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18) "They joined with the other believers and devoted themselves to the Apostles' teaching and to the breaking of bread and prayer." (Acts 2:42)
Step 5: Discovering spiritual growth and the church. This is the exciting first step on the road toward Christian maturity. The growth side of the strategy is taught in steps 5-8 in differing formats. At this step, the new believer will be DISCOVERING spiritual growth and the mission of New Hope. This is a 3-4 hour church membership class where the mission of New Hope is explained, and basic theology is presented including baptism and other core beliefs. A spiritual mentor is assigned to each new member/family (Elder Care Group).
Step 6: Maturing spiritually as a new believer. The next step involves teaching spiritual disciplines. This is where the new believer takes the next steps toward a MATURING relationship with Christ. The believer is taught at a deeper level about spiritual disciplines, such as bible study, prayer habits, stewardship of resources, etc. This step is taught in a one to one or couples format led by a trained spiritual mentor over a period of several weeks.
Step 7: Involving your spiritual gifts in the church. This is the step where the maturing believer now is becoming consistent in their personal walk with Christ, and now is taught how to become an active participant here at New Hope. They are taught how to discover their spiritual gifts and are now ready to develop and begin INVOLVING their spiritual gifts and talents in the church. This is taught in a large group format using resources such as the Network Curriculum. Step 8: Reproducing the mission. This is the last step of the basic strategy, where the believer is taught to own and model the mission. The believer is taught how to discover their unique style of evangelism/outreach, and is encouraged to use it. The believer now is engaged in the process of reaching a non-believing friend, and REPRODUCING these steps with them. This is taught in a large group format using the Becoming a Contagious Christian curriculum. This will complete the strategy circle and ensure fulfillment of Christ's mission on a continual basis, and maintain balance in the ministry.
