The foundational principles that will govern New Hope Community Church and its mission.

1. Biblical Based:

" All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • The foundation and stronghold for New Hope must be built upon biblically driven principles, and the unchanging truth of God's Word.
  • We believe that we must be culturally relevant and contemporary in methodology, while remaining faithful to the foundation of God's Word.

2. God-Powered:

"Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." (Proverbs 19:21)

"For apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)

"Pray continually." (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
  • We must be plugged into and committed to the source of our faith, Jesus Christ. If we are not, then we are working according to our own plans and ideas, which ultimately lead to failure.
  • We maintain this connection through a committed prayer life and seeking God through His word on a daily basis.

3. Empowered by Church Leadership and owned by its members:

"Obey your spiritual leaders and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they know they are accountable to God" (Hebrews 13:17)

" I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought." (1 Corinthians 1:10)
  • Our mission must be empowered through gifted and biblically qualified church leadership. The success of our mission rises and falls on its leadership. We must seek God and ask for guidance and provision in this crucial area of church leadership.
  • New Hope must be unified in mission as brothers and sisters in Christ. We must strive to follow the commands of scripture to honor one another and strive to maintain unity. When we are unified, our church will become an unstoppable force in our community and beyond, through the power of Christ!

4. Purpose-Driven:

"It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." (Matthew 9:12-13)

"The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." (Luke 19:10)
  • New Hope desires to fulfill the biblical purposes for the church (EvangelismDiscipleshipMinistryWorshipFellowshipas found in the Great Commandment and the Great Commission).
  • Christ had a mission, and He knew what had to be done to fulfill it. He laid out the mission, lived out the mission, and finalized it on the cross. He then left the mission for us to carry-on. We must strive to accomplish this mission through intentional strategy so as best to utilize the resources and time that God has given to us.
