New Hope Community Church held it's grand opening service on Sunday, September 29th, 2002
. There were 239 who attended the contemporary-style service that focuses on reaching those who are not a part of other local churches.

Pastor Charles Hill and Worship Pastor Jeff Cooper were both anticipating a good turnout, but neither expected to have 30-40 without seats. Charles said, "God is working in a great way here in our community, and it is up to us to allow Him to do the work, and just sit back and be used as His servants."

Most exciting of all, we had several trust Christ as their Savior and/or rededicate their lives to serving Him. That is what we are all about. Reaching and teaching the lost to become committed followers of Christ (Matt. 28:19-20).

Church plants typically see a sharp drop off in attendance from week 1 to 2, but we only had 40 or so "well-wishers" (family, Berean attenders, etc.) and most said they were coming back as they left the service.

The church will have plenty of room to sit as well as adequate parking this coming Sunday as we are adding a second service. "If we have to hold three services in the future, Jeff and I are ready for the challenge. We want to accommodate all who seek to learn more about God and start a new beginning with us here at New Hope ," commented Charles.

New Hope adds second service. Due to the overwhelming response that resulted in standing room only on opening Sunday, we are adding a second service to meet the demand. Our service times will be 9:30 & 11:00 AM. The children's programs and nursery will be staffed both hours. Hope to see you there!
