First, we'd like to introduce a new member of the TAPCity team! Fred Weih joins us as Vice President of Operations. Mr. Weih has over 100 newspaper articles, studies and industry reports written about his visionary prototypes in e-commerce and the changing future of retailing. Service Update:
We now have nationwide service available via 2 Network platforms. Network 1 consists of local access numbers. Network 2 consists of a toll-free 800# offered to customers living in areas where local access is not yet available. To determine if your customer is in a local access Network 1 area or a Toll-free Network 2 area go to the TAPCity website at www.tapcity.com. From there click on "Now Available! Check Service Availability" in the lower right corner of the Home page. This will allow you to check the customer number by entering the area code and the first 3 digits of the number. Depending on the number you've entered, the site will forward you to the correct price list and order form.

The new price plans for Network 1 and Network 2 are as follows:

NETWORK 1 (Local Access available)

TAPCity has recently re-worked our agent materials to better educate new agents and to assist in agent support of their downlines. There are now some new prices and features for agent materials. The Basic Kit is now $19.95 (plus $4.95 shipping and handling). For that you will be able to market our flat rate long distance service. You will receive a Basic Kit, which will have the materials that you need to get started and on your way.

SERVICE UPDATE 1-10-99

As a TAPCity Agent we wanted to keep you up to date with some very exciting news, SERVICE HAS BEEN RESTORED ON A LIMITED BASIS! That's right, Unlimited long distance service has been restored through local access points in hundreds of cities throughout the country. There will also be 800 based National plans rolled out very soon. Some plans have been revised so please review this new information very carefully.

Here are the current plans that are now available:

Economy Plan $29.95 per month

24/7 Home Plan $49.95 per month

24/7 Bus. Plan $99.95 per month

 

What are the steps being taken to get things rolling?

TAPCity immediately updated our websites to reflect the new prices and to re-establish the automated screening process for customers who want to subscribe to service. When local access is not available the new 800 based service plans will be offered online as soon as they become available.

There are NO changes to the agent commission plan. Commissions will be more controlled on all new sign ups and will be paid out for all new customers every two weeks. Because of the interuption in service and the need to correct past commissions (due to customer cancellations), TAPCity will be catching up on previous commissions due over the coming weeks.

What about signing up for the 800 Nationwide product offering?

TAPCity is finalizing the service plans that will be offered to customers in areas where they cannot currently access a local number to the network. In the meantime, we will be setting up the websites to capture the interest of customers so we can get back to them as soon as we have services available.

Our service provider has experienced severe downtime in service access. TAPCity is working closely with them to resolve any problems, and we now know that the network will be up and running by the end of next week.

When is USATalks going to provide better support?

TAPCity has decided that we are need to control the billing and customer support for all TAPCity customers. Our service provider is supportive of this change and in the next two to four weeks you will see noticable improvements to the support and service quality provided to our customers. TAPCity will establish our own brand name for the products and services that we provide to all our agents and customers. This change will result in better control over all our agent accounts and relationships.

Is there any doubt that TAPCity will continue to offer flat rate long distance?

No. TAPCity was established to support the creation of a new market for long distance. We have agents who are prepared to introduce flat rate long distance calling Nationwide. This is the new frontier for long distance and it will be a huge market. Television and internet services are provided on a flat rate basis. Using the same technology, TAPCity can and will continue to take the lead in offering flat rate calling plans that everyone can afford!
